Finally, more summer sunny days than dreary rainy ones! If you’re glad to finally be able to relax in your garden or on your balcony, here are a few suggestions for some reading and listening that we hope you’ll find interesting.

First up..are you in a rut?  It’s so easy to stay in our comfort zones and do the same things day after day.  If you’re feeling that it’s time for a little or even a big change, check out Richard Branson’s advice on Trying Something New in 2019

If you’d rather listen than read, try NPR’s interesting series of podcasts. Titled This Is Gonna Hurt,  it’s a whole series of audio podcasts of widows sharing their experiences and advice with other widows. Although it is oriented to widows, the topics covered apply to anyone who has experienced loss of a spouse.

On a happier note, resilience is always an interesting topic and so necessary when times get tough.  Here’s an article about 10 Ways To Improve Your Resilience that may offer some new advice to you.  Note that #3 on the list is the importance of making social connections to share your feelings, feel support, and find new enjoyment with friends –  our goal for all our Widowed Friends members.

If you’re looking for a little inspiration and hope, check out social media and marketing leader, Peter Shankman’s Birthday Wishes For You.  We hope you find something to lift your spirits here!

Finally, Steph suggests this article for a laugh, Why Married Men Want To Give Me More Than Tea and Sympathy. Let us know if your experiences have been similar!
