From time to time we like to post a few articles that we think might be of interest to our community. This time, our theme is managing through challenges – something many of us work on following the loss of a spouse.
Here’s a recent article by Christina Rasmussen who wrote the book “Second Firsts” about grief and loss. The article entitled “Healing Takes Place in Plural” is all about the importance of connecting with others after loss. It really resonated with us at Widowed Friends as our community is all about developing new friendships on the path to rebuilding our lives. If you’ve been feeling alone, and you are a widow or widower, we hope you’ll think about joining Widowed Friends.
Sometimes it’s not our circumstances but the way we think about them that makes all the difference – thinking negatively often results in negative outcomes. Here’s an article from Byron Katie on how to keep yourself from letting your brain take you down an unhappy path. Let us know in the comments section if you agree or disagree!
Finally here’s an inspirational 21 tips from Jack Kelly about How To Be Unstoppable – the article is oriented to the working person, but, if you are retired the advice is still great!
