We’ve been lucky that as we quarantine and social distance, it’s all been happening during the spring and summer. Imagine how confined we’d all feel if this was mid-winter and it was dark and cold!
So as long as the weather is co-operating, let’s take advantage of it and get outdoors and get healthy and strong and prepare for whatever comes our way next fall and winter.
One of the best ways to do that is to find activities every day that strengthen muscles, get our hearts beating, and challenge balance. It’s never too late to start to get fit! Here’s a couple of ideas!
Remember the team from tv’s BodyBreak? They’re back with a new website called the Canadian Frailty Network that has lots of advice for keeping active, managing some of the issues of aging and videos on various fitness topics. It still stars original BodyBreak couple Joanne Macleod and Hal Johnson, a blast from the past and fun to watch!
If you’re looking for something a bit more relaxed, try out Yoga with Adriene – she has a yoga session for every interest from beginner videos, sore back videos, fat-burning and relaxing. You could grab your phone or tablet and go to the garden or park and zone out and enjoy a yoga class!!
Whatever the summer holds for you we hope you find time to get out and enjoy the warm days and get as fit and healthy as possible. It’s a great way to boost your spirits and prepare your mind and body for whatever life brings us in the future!
