If you’re looking for a change of pace, there are a few Widowed Friends of Halton (WFH) events you might like to consider.

Penny R

Penny R is the welcoming host to Sunday late afternoon pub visits. About once a month a group gathers at different pubs around Oakville and Burlington to enjoy each other’s company and to try out some delicious pub food. It’s a great end to the weekend and a fun get-together for anyone with time and a good appetite on a Sunday evening

Penny also greets a group at Ricki’s All Day Grill in Burlington once at month on a Friday at lunchtime.  This is another nice way to end off a busy week!

With so many great restaurants on the WFH agenda, sometimes it’s nice to get out and do a little activity too!

Once a month on a Thursday afternoon, Bill S hosts pool at Boston Manor in Burlington. This group gets together for a $10 lunch and $5 unlimited pool. Bill provides informal instruction to newbies and everyone enjoys socializing and trying out their skills.

If you’d like to join a walking group, Barb has volunteered to lead a new beginner level hiking group, starting Thursday morning, April 20th. Meeting at Beachway Park in Burlington, each walking group will take approximately an hour and a half and will follow up the walk with some well-deserved refreshments at a local restaurant.   There will be other locations for walking as the spring weather improves, so keep watching meetup for updates and to register!

You can find all these events on Meetup. It’s a good idea to register a little in advance of any event so hosts know how many people to expect and can plan accordingly.

WFH is always evolving so you’ll see new activities and events being added often -we look forward to seeing you soon!!
