Every once and a while we put together a few articles and videos we think you might be interested in reading or watching. We’d love to hear your comments and any suggestions you might have for articles or books that are meaningful to you. Just add them in the comments section and we’ll be sure to check them out!
Dorothy suggested this article – Not Gone, but Forgotten – a reminder that isolation, especially following the loss of a partner is bad for both your mental and physical health. That’s why we encourage all our members to join us at a few events – it really helps to get out and meet new people and do new things. If you haven’t been out for awhile, come and help us celebrate our third anniversary May 27th at Hampton’s. There’s limited seating so RSVP as soon as you can – this event is open to family, guests and members of Widowed Friends!
Another interesting article is Can There Be a Good Life After Loss? by Megan Devine. In this article, she talks about how you can find happiness again while at the same time always holding on to the love you felt for your lost partner.
On a happier note, if you are feeling run down reading the news and are tired of all the tragedies, drama and noise in the world, check out this article 50 Ways the World is Getting Better. Sometimes we hear so many bad things, we forget that there is a lot of good things happening too- from better health, to less crime and great innovations, this article will cheer you up!
In the “it’s never too late” category, here’s a sweet video that Dorothy spotted about a 97 year looking for love.
