In the Halton community for over 85 years, Acclaim Health focuses on providing people with quality, community-based health care services including supporting physical and mental well-being through independent living, reducing social isolation, innovative dementia care, end of life care and bereavement support.

Acclaim has a large volunteer program that helps widen the services offered to Halton residents. Unfortunately, many people  in Halton are stuck on waiting lists, waiting for support due to the high demand for Acclaim’s assistance. You can help! Acclaim has several volunteer opportunities open and training for these positions starts in September. It’s a great opportunity to give back to the community.

Why Volunteer?

People who volunteer build strong connections in their community, feel happier, and can ultimately improve their mental and physical health. Check out our story regarding a Widowed Friends volunteer working in the bereavement care program.

Fall training sessions at Acclaim are coming up quickly so if you are interested, apply now to reserve your spot or call Fran Savelson, Acclaim’s Volunteer Engagement Coordinator at 905-827-8800 x2329 for more information or check out the complete list of volunteer opportunities here.

Here are the current available volunteer training sessions:

  • September 10th – Home Support Exercise Volunteer
  • September 16th – Hospice Care Volunteer
  • September 17th – Memory Visiting Volunteer (Level 1)
  • September 18th – Volunteer Orientation (Friendly Visiting and others)
