Yes. Widowed Friends is exclusively for individuals who have lost a spouse or partner and who can attest to Proof of Loss upon request.

Yes. Membership is currently open to Canadian residents.

Yes. The annual membership fee is $145 within Ontario, $100 annual fee for members living Outside Ontario.

All members must provide a contact on their membership application in the event of a medical emergency.

Yes. Widowed Friends offers an inclusive community open to both widows and widowers.

Yes. We recommend prospective members wait 8 – 12 weeks following a loss before applying to join our community, to ensure they’ve taken time to deal with the initial stages of grief.

Our members range from early 40’s to mid 80’s – The average age of members is 65.

Yes. The Membership agreement defines our group’s core values to which we hold ourselves and individuals accountable.

Our in-person events have been focused within the Halton region and surrounding areas, however we recently began get togethers for members in Victoria and  Calgary and are actively looking to create in-person events for members in other regions.

We offer “open events” several times a year and these specific dates are published on our events calendar.  Our special events are open to friends and family.
